Sprouts Philadelphia is Now Open! A Look Inside the Store (+ a Giveaway!)

This post is part of a partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make Her Philly possible!

Great news, Philly! Sprouts (1000 South Broad Street) is now officially open! In case you missed my previous posts, I’ve shared the basics of what Sprouts is and the best ways to save money there. And since I’m all about that grocery store life, I’ve been loving learning about the new store.

I stopped by Philly’s new location Tuesday night to take a little tour while their Friends & Family soft opening was in full force. Despite the store being packed on their first night on the job, all of the employees were so helpful and sweet.

The building is huge, built in an old train shed. The natural light shining through from the ceiling complements the store throughout the day – they’re open from 7am-10pm daily.

My Quest for the Best Dark Curvy Jeans

I go through shifts in how I dress based on trends, comfort, and how I’m feeling about my body at the time. But these shifts can last for quite a bit, enough that I find myself gravitating towards certain styles and completely away from entire trends I used to love and have filled my closet with (jumpsuits, hello?!), until I’m wearing the same 5 things over and over and need some variety in my life.

And lately, we’re talking a year or so, I’ve been noticing this: I’m wearing less of my dress and skirt collection and piling. on. the. denim. So, I obviously needed a few new pairs.

Shopping Like a Pro at Sprouts

This post is part of a partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make Her Philly possible!

Last week, I told you that Sprouts was coming to Philadelphia (Broad & Washington, to be exact!). And from your comments and messages, I know some of you have been privileged to have grown up or moved from an area with a Sprouts (and you were all very, very excited).

But for the rest of us, learning the shopping intricacies, coupon cadence, and best house brand products is a tough world to navigate at a new grocery store. There are entire. blogs. dedicated to cult supermarket shopping! So this week, with the opening of Sprouts Philadelphia a mere one week away, I’m sharing the things you must know as a new Sprouts shopper.

5 Philly Ladies Share Their Favorite Philadelphia Restaurant Picks

It’s almost that time again: Center City District’s Philadelphia Restaurant Week is right around the corner (Saturday, September 23rd to Friday, October 5th to be exact)! In case you’re unfamiliar, CCDRW is a Philly tradition. Restaurants all over Center City offer prix-fixe menus (three-course lunch for $20 or three-course dinner for $35), giving diners a chance to try all the spots they’ve been meaning to get to, or even just discover a new restaurant because one dish caught their eye. It’s a really fun time to get out & explore Philly.

It’s been awhile since I covered Philadelphia Restaurant Week on the blog, so I knew I wanted to give you guys an updated take (with plenty of time to make your reservations, of course!). But even for me, my years of going out to a few dinners in a two week span have significantly dwindled (life, people!). So, in order to give you a fresh take, I asked five incredible Philadelphia women to give me their top picks instead!

Having the Perfect Eagles Party this Season

This post is part of a paid partnership with DecoPac. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make Her Philly possible!

The Birds are baaaack, baby! Even if you’re not a huge football fan, I’m sure that pretty much every Philadelphia human can appreciate the real and utter joy this city has experienced over the last year. It’s been so. much. fun.

One of the best parts of Eagles season for me is all of the gatherings to watch the games. Whether it’s a few friends watching on the couch, making a v risky stop at a Center City sports bar (this is quite rare for me ever since a waitress at Fox & Hound spilled piping hot cheese sauce on my new Jason Kelce jersey a few years back), at home in South Jersey with my Pops, or, of course, tailgating down at the Linc, just being together and sharing in the love of our Birds is the reason for the szn.

Sprouts is Coming to Philly!

I’m excited to announce my new partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make Her Philly possible!

Aaaaand we’re back! Whether you spent it in the city, down the shore, or anywhere in between, I hope you all had a lovely and relaxing Labor Day weekend.

Now that we’re all back to reality, I have some exciting news to share! You guys know I very truthfully love a good grocery store. One of my favorite weekend activities is getting to the store reaaaal early in the morning, taking my time browsing and finding new gems, and heading home immediately to cook all the things (anything that discourages me from ordering delivery is quite important to my life).

Well, on September 19th, Philly is gaining another CENTER. CITY. grocery store to help fulfill our grocery dreams!

A Beginner’s Guide to Musikfest: Bethlehem’s Annual Free Concert Festival

I’m not really a “concert festival” goer. The idea of sleeping in a tent in a field and being without a modernly updated bathroom and my daily essentials is not really on my list of faves. But I am here to say, after experiencing Musikfest, the largest free, non-gated music fesitval in the nation, right down the road in Bethlehem, PA, I think my mind may have been changed.

Turns out, there are some music festivals I can do, with the proper support system of lodging, appropriate clothing, activities, and food choices. And as a first time Musikfest-goer, I think I’ve learned QUITE a bit about how to make your first time as great as mine.

University City’s Newest Gem: Louie Louie

I love when this blog gives me the chance to explore an area of the city that I don’t typically venture into. University City is such a fun and vibrant part of Philadelphia, and one that I, admittedly, don’t get over to as much as I’d like. But after Louie Louie invited me to come in for dinner, I know there are going to be a lot more ~Center City dwellers~ venturing across the Schuylkill soon! Cue the food pics. 😉

Ask Emily: Blowouts & Makeovers in the City

I’ve been thinking about starting a new series on the blog. I get questions from my readers & city visitors all the time asking for my advice about a certain Philly thing. Whether it’s ideas for where to take your parents, what you must see on a trip, or actual physical help with finding a job, apartment, or realtor, I love that people read my blog and trust my opinion enough to help shape something they plan to do!

I thought by answering these questions on my site (with permission from the asker, of course), it could serve as a resource for other women who may have the same inquiry. But, since I have not experienced everything there is to do in this city of ours (shocker), if you’ve been somewhere I haven’t, share what you know in the comments! I’d love these posts to become the ultimate guides with opinions from a lot of experienced Philly ladies.

Let’s jump in to our first reader question!
