Philly Girl Summer Life {2014}

I have really been loving this summer. The sunshine makes me so happy. I don’t think I have done this season’s update post (see last summer), where I just get to talk about all of the fun and random things going on in my life . . . so here we are.

The Single Life
We all know I’m single (because it seems like I announce it every chance I get), but I don’t let that stop me from attending the things I want in the city. Last week, I posted a guest blog for Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia all about attending Diner en Blanc as a single woman. Check it.

Traveling Lady
As you may have seen on Twitter & Instagram, I just got back from Orlando. I was there for a social media conference (which I will be posting about!), and added on a few extra days of vacation with my family. We went to Disney World (obviously) and had some amazing dinners while we were there. Each of my family members asked if I’d be blogging about my trip, so . . . hi guys!

Omni Orlando // Her Philly

300 Club!
I took a few weeks off from Flywheel when I started my new job, but I am back and loving life. I just took my first Fly60 class with Nicole and I am very proud of myself. I made it through the class and scored over 300 points – holla! Thank you, Flywheel, for helping me enjoy working out. If any of you ever want to give Flywheel a try, your first class is free, and I’d love to go with you!

Geeks for the Win
Because I totally needed a new show to keep me occupied, and because I trust all things HBO, I started (and finished) Silicon Valley. It was slightly crude, but most of the jokes did not bother me that much. The episodes are quick, so if you’re interested in the tech world, check it out.

The Not Wedding Philadelphia held at Power Plant Productions // Her Philly

My Social Calendar
This month has been a fun one for events! I started off at The Not Wedding, which, despite being the only person there not planning a wedding, was still really cool to attend. It was held at Power Plant Productions (230 North 2nd Street) – I’m obsessed. Next was the Yelp 10 Year Anniversary Party, held at the Shops at Liberty Place (1625 Chestnut Street). There was a ton of great food and drinks there, but my favorites were definitely the cupcakes from Twelve Baskets. Later that week, I attended my first concert at Festival Pier for The Fray and Neon Trees. I loved the venue – I’ll definitely be back for more shows!

On one final note, thank you for continuing to read and spread the word about my blog. I have met so many of you lately and it is seriously still unreal to me that people like you enjoy reading Her Philly. I love ya all. Have a wonderful rest of your week! xx

We adopted a puppy!!! 🖤 Meet Putter. He was born in January in Mississippi, and brought to PA with his mom & siblings for adoption by @tlcrescuepa.

I had been applying to rescue a pup for almost a year, so I am so thankful to @tlcrescuepa for giving us a shot. We brought Putter home 4/26/22. 🥰

Putter is fitting into our family so well, and we are loving watching him grow and learn new things. Jim & I are taking him to puppy class every Saturday and we are excited to learn more ourselves!

I could spam you with a million pictures but I created an Insta for the baby so I don’t go overboard here. 😂 You can follow @putterthepuppy to see more of our small boy. 🥹
The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelore The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelorette was such a joy it deserves its own post. 🚃

I have talked about the @foundingfootsteps tours for years. The owner, Tim, is such an asset to the Philly community, and I was excited to support his company for our ladies night out. 💃🏻

I booked us the Beer & Bands trolley tour. We (the 8 of us and 3 sweet younger gals) got picked up at Betsy Ross house with our BYO @highnoonsunsips and singing voices ready. 🎶

The trolley comes equipped with musicians and an amazing driver (shoutout Koser, Nate & Justin!) and takes you on a drive throughout the city, while the musicians play Britney Spears, BSB, & other assorted covers. Though we did make several suggestions to add more Taylor songs into rotation. 😉

The windows are open and we were loudly singing along, so early on, in our drunken happiness, we decided to start waving to people out the window. Once we started getting a few waves back, it became the sole focus of the night, singing and seeing how many waves we could secure (it was a 95% wave-back rate).

We laughed and sang and just had the most fun tour ever. The tour also stops at a brewery or two (hence that part of the name), we stopped at @victorytaproom_phl on ours, but we were mostly happy to be waving on the trolley. 😂

I can’t recommend @foundingfootsteps for your next girls night out enough. 🖤
Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨ O Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨

Our Saturday bachelorette day started off with breakfast at our @airbnb (@hot_bagels brought by @caitlyn22b were the star). We made some drinks and headed to @oldcityphilly for our surprise (to @linnytharp) @airbnbexperiences tour - “Hamilton - The Tour Where it Happens!”

Lindsay is a big @hamiltonmusical fan and this was an absolutely hysterical way for us to spend the afternoon. Our tour guide, Reid, brought along a speaker and played/rapped along to several Hamilton tracks on the streets of Philly. We learned a lot about the true Hamilton story and had just so, so much fun.

After the tour, we got a drink at @theploughphilly and bopped over to @luchacartelphilly for a seriously delicious dinner & margs. Our night event deserves its own post, so more on that in the final Bach post! 😉
