You know why I love you guys? Well, there are several things, but a big one is: you love pizza, just as much as me. Anyone I can talk pizza with easily earns some points in my book. So earlier this week, I was not surprised to see the love come out after posting the little pizza shot below on Instagram. But, I was intrigued that no one could identify the origin. I had pizza power for about four days, but now it’s time to share with you.
I will read pretty much any promotional flyer delivered to my house. Whether it’s a church, a gym, or, obviously, a restaurant, I’m looking at it. I got the menu for the newly opened Kosmo Pizza (521 South Broad Street) when I was in a state of post-spin class pure hunger. I quickly checked the Yelp reviews (all glowing), and hopped on their website to check things out. They had an online ordering service (sold – minimum human interaction), which I did have to create an account for, but was easy enough to use. I did not get any email confirmations or texts (which I opted in to, obviously, delivery 101 people), but my precious pizza arrived in about 25 minutes, which helps me forgive Kosmo majorly.
When trying a new place, it’s always good to make sure you have options. I ordered the Half & Half 12″ specialty pie – and I love that that is an option on the menu. It’s perfect for couples or roommates, or people that eat pizza alone in their apartment under the watchful eye of this guy. I went with the White Margherita (fresh garlic, fresh mozzarella, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and a splash of plum tomato sauce) and the Chicken Parm (chicken cutlet, marinara, and mozzarella cheese), which came to $10.99 (plus a $2 delivery charge). As much as the pizza looked amazing, it tasted, amazing. The crust was my favorite part, super chewy and flavorful. I was in pure pizza bliss.
After I left my pizza coma, I came to realize that Kosmo Pizza is located in the SouthStar Lofts, neighboring the new Sbraga place, Juniper Commons and the soon-to-be Big Gay Ice Cream. Let’s just say I see a lot of trips to Broad & South in my future once this weather starts to be normal again. Hope to see you there!
