Philly’s Best Catch Up Spots

Let’s face it: we’re all busy. Sometimes, getting in those quick get-togethers with friends can be hard, because meeting up at most places in the city can turn into quite an event. While coffee is usually a perfect half hour, 45 minute catch up idea, for those who work a day-time job outside the city (me), there are simply not enough acceptable hours to drink java in the day. In order to help all of us get in a few more casual meet ups with our pals, I’m sharing my five go-to Center City catch up spots (plus a few extra, if you read til the end!).

quick catch up spots in philadelphia

Tria Taproom (2005 Walnut Street)
Let’s be honest: this place is amazing on its own merit. But with beer and wine on tap (via their iPad menu – I kid you not), delicious small plates to snack on, and indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a perfect spot for all of your catching up needs.

Honeygrow (110 South 16th Street)
This build-your-own meal spot is my go-to when I’m in a rush, buuuut they also have an abundance of tables, for when you and your bud are both in a rush. Plus, you pay when you order, so there’s no time wasted figuring out a check.

Foodery (1710 Sansom Street)
If you’re looking for a stellar beer selection (650 isn’t too many to choose from, right?) in a low-key setting, this is your place. You order your beers at the counter, grab a table, and pop them open right there. Let the tipsy talking begin. 😉

Devil’s Alley (1907 Chestnut Street)
This spot makes my list because whenever I need a table at a bar, I know I can depend on Devil’s Alley. The upstairs gives you plenty of room, the beer selection is good, and the food is solid.

Magpie (1622 South Street)
A dessert themed meet up sounds like something everyone can agree on, right? Magpie has a counter (and tables), so you and your buddy are free to pull up a stool in this adorable shop and sample slices to your heart’s content.

When I am brainstorming for some of my posts, I like to ask my Philly friends for their suggestions, and they had a lot for this one (they’re pretty great). While I only like to vouch for places I have tried and tested for you all, I thought it only fair to give you the places they suggested (that I have not frequented), for some additional Philly lady inspiration: Paris Wine Bar (2303 Fairmount Avenue), Honest Tom’s Taco Shop (261 South 44th Street), Wrap Shack (120 South 18th Street), Strangelove’s (216 South 11th Street) & Continental Midtown (1801 Chestnut Street).

I hope these quick & easy catch up suggestions gave you plenty of ideas to go meet up with a friend you haven’t seen in awhile! If I missed your favorite go-to, let me know in the comments below. xx

Tonight was the best feeling of trying something n Tonight was the best feeling of trying something new. ⛳️ (I’m now looking up golf puns and I love how many have the word “putter” in them. 🥹🖤).

My gal pal @calisonx and I took a ladies beginner golf clinic at @linwoodcc tonight. We both had absolutely never played golf past mini golf on the boardwalk… so this was fun & new. The late summer weather was simply stunning & on top of that, our class included THREE glasses of wine. 😅🍷

It was fun to get a new outfit (duh) and be in a social place that’s not a bar. My dad thinks this is where I will meet my future husband so let’s all send me some good vibes for that. 😉

I’m excited to take another class & learn more. 🏌🏻‍♀️Are any of you golfing girls? Would love to hear your tips on how to get into it (and/or meet your husband at the golf course.) 😉

What a gorgeous Philly evening to welcome three Je What a gorgeous Philly evening to welcome three Jersey gals for a little theatre (thanks to @kimmelculturalcampus!). My mom, sister, and I met to see @thelionking at @academymusicphl and it was simply *phenomenal.*

We both found quick weeknight after 5pm parking at nearby lots ($16!) and had time for dinner & @vanleeuwenicecream before the play.

The show is better than you could ever expect - the actors are just so talented (especially young Simba & Nala! The best part was watching the little kidsss enjoy it, too (three little boys in front of us were raising their Simba doll merch up at the end- so unreal 🥹). The show is so worth seeing while it’s here (now through 9/10!).

A huge thanks to @kimmelculturalcampus for the beautiful Philly night out. 🖤
