Philly Guy Gift Guide 2015

It’s beginning to look a lot like gift guide season! I love putting together and evolving my Philly Gift Guides each year; researching the best gifts for Philly guys always helps me to discover new places and products to fall in love with. This year, I have a fun mix of gift ideas (inspired by our city, of course) that I hope will spark some holiday shopping for the Philly man in your life!

Best Gifts for Philly Guys

Now that I’ve made you work for it, here are my top 10 gift ideas your boyfriend, brother, pops, or buddy. On to the gifts!

Gift Ideas for Philly Men1. For the man who entertains his buddies or simply drinks lots of icy beverages, these bamboo Moustache Coasters by Philly-based Masters of None are a thoughtful reminder not to be an animal. $29

2. While it pains me to put any Philly sports gear in this year’s gift guide, we gotta have phaith, right? At lease this Sixers Crewneck from Mitchell & Ness (1201 Chestnut Street) is pretty hard to argue with, style-wise. $100

3. For the classy gentleman, this Ironwork Leather Hip Flask, designed for The Barnes (2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) after the mustache-shaped iron hinges at the museum, is essential. $79

4. I’ve seen many a man omit stylish eyewear from their daily look, but lucky for them, they have us. While I love basically everything at the Omoi Zakka Shop (1608 Pine Street), these Black Tortoise Shades are pretty killer. $62

5. Impress your java-addicted man with this La Colombe (multiple locations) All The Best Gift Box, featuring, you guessed it, the shop’s top three classic blends. $36

6. For the homes where there never seems to be a quick way to open your fancy craft brew, this Liberty Bell Bottle Opener from Open House (107 South 13th Steet) is a generous, problem solving gift. $34

7. This shirt is really cool, mostly because, beyond the standard LOVE statue emblem, it’s made up of ~40,000 words! The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin tee from Litographs, comes in multiple color combos, too. $34

8. Another Philly-based gem is Analog Watch Co. (1214 Moore Street). This Black Marble Classic Watch is one of my favorite styles from their hip shop. $164.99

9. Depending on when you’re exchanging, a couple of tickets to the new Star Wars flick at The Franklin Institute (222 North 20th Street)’s IMAX Theater could be a pretty excellent gift option. You just have to go with him. $15/each

10. If you’re lucky enough to be #blessed with a bearded man in your life, the least you could do is help them care for it. I’m a fan of this handy Beard Box from Duross and Langel (117 South 13th Street). $45

There you have it! Stay tuned for my Philly Lady Gift Guide later this week, but if you need some inspiration in the meantime, check out all of my past Philly Gift Guides. Have a great week! xx

We adopted a puppy!!! 🖤 Meet Putter. He was born in January in Mississippi, and brought to PA with his mom & siblings for adoption by @tlcrescuepa.

I had been applying to rescue a pup for almost a year, so I am so thankful to @tlcrescuepa for giving us a shot. We brought Putter home 4/26/22. 🥰

Putter is fitting into our family so well, and we are loving watching him grow and learn new things. Jim & I are taking him to puppy class every Saturday and we are excited to learn more ourselves!

I could spam you with a million pictures but I created an Insta for the baby so I don’t go overboard here. 😂 You can follow @putterthepuppy to see more of our small boy. 🥹
The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelore The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelorette was such a joy it deserves its own post. 🚃

I have talked about the @foundingfootsteps tours for years. The owner, Tim, is such an asset to the Philly community, and I was excited to support his company for our ladies night out. 💃🏻

I booked us the Beer & Bands trolley tour. We (the 8 of us and 3 sweet younger gals) got picked up at Betsy Ross house with our BYO @highnoonsunsips and singing voices ready. 🎶

The trolley comes equipped with musicians and an amazing driver (shoutout Koser, Nate & Justin!) and takes you on a drive throughout the city, while the musicians play Britney Spears, BSB, & other assorted covers. Though we did make several suggestions to add more Taylor songs into rotation. 😉

The windows are open and we were loudly singing along, so early on, in our drunken happiness, we decided to start waving to people out the window. Once we started getting a few waves back, it became the sole focus of the night, singing and seeing how many waves we could secure (it was a 95% wave-back rate).

We laughed and sang and just had the most fun tour ever. The tour also stops at a brewery or two (hence that part of the name), we stopped at @victorytaproom_phl on ours, but we were mostly happy to be waving on the trolley. 😂

I can’t recommend @foundingfootsteps for your next girls night out enough. 🖤
Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨ O Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨

Our Saturday bachelorette day started off with breakfast at our @airbnb (@hot_bagels brought by @caitlyn22b were the star). We made some drinks and headed to @oldcityphilly for our surprise (to @linnytharp) @airbnbexperiences tour - “Hamilton - The Tour Where it Happens!”

Lindsay is a big @hamiltonmusical fan and this was an absolutely hysterical way for us to spend the afternoon. Our tour guide, Reid, brought along a speaker and played/rapped along to several Hamilton tracks on the streets of Philly. We learned a lot about the true Hamilton story and had just so, so much fun.

After the tour, we got a drink at @theploughphilly and bopped over to @luchacartelphilly for a seriously delicious dinner & margs. Our night event deserves its own post, so more on that in the final Bach post! 😉
