Philly Guy Gift Guide 2016

It’s gift guide time! Today I’m excited to be sharing some of the best gifts from our area, sure to please the Philly guy in your life. Buying for guys can be tough, they always say they don’t want or need anything, leaving you having to find inspiration on your own. Whether you choose to design your own bobbleheads or find the perfect cashmere scarf, giving a great gift is sure to put a smile on someone’s face. Therefore, I’ve scoured the interwebs and consulted with some local men to put together the best of the best, with each gift coming from a local shop or location. If you can’t get to these stores, you’ll still be able to find some great gifts, like Personalisierte Handyhülle, online! And a tip before we jump in: if you see something you love, be sure to shop quick, as some of these babies are on sale for Cyber Monday! Click through for links, locations, and some of my much-needed commentary.

What you should get your Philly guy for Christmas

Philly Guy Gift Guide

1. Let your Philly guy reminisce about the mistakes of our city’s coaches of the past with this clever lil Retro Coaches Tee by Ambler-based shop, Generation T. $32

2. For the car lover in your life, scoop him up tickets to this year’s Philly Auto Show. Make sure he knows your willingness to attend with him (complaint-free!) adds to the gift value. $14 each

3. So much Philly pride in this baby: pick up a bar of Black Coffee Soap by the Urban Cabin Soap Company in collaboration with Peddler Coffee (2100 Spring Garden Street) for a squeaky-clean, Philly scrub. $8

4. This local shop is filled with fun and kitschy gems, but for a guy, I love Three Potato Four’s Take It Easy Pennant. I think I’ve had a guy say this exact phrase to me a time or two. $24

5. How cool is this!? Bike lovers need not worry about how to carry their mixed six pack home, thanks to United By Blue (144 N. 2nd Street) (in collab with Yards!)’s Bike Beer Carrier. $48

6. Grab your guy a gift card to Meister’s Barber Shop (1810 East Passyunk Avenue), a new-ish shop to hit the Philly scene. It came highly recommended by a few Philly guys, and even took home the honor of Best of Philly’s Best Men’s Grooming this year. Services run $11-26

7. For a fun and boozy Philly day, check out the Distillery Tour at Stateside Vodka (1700 North Hancock Street). Book ahead of time, and once you’re done, grab a few drinks at FDR, Stateside’s attached cocktail lounge. $10 each

8. Add a little Philly to his home with this sweet Ben Franklin Pillow by The Pillow Works, available at Philadelphia Independents (35 North 3rd Street). $65

9. Every time I see these flasks at craft shows, I’m in awe of their coolness. Pick up a Psychedelic Porcelain Flask from Wrong World Ceramics to give your Philly guy a piece he’s gonna get a lot of questions about. In a good way. $27

10. This list deserves to end with a bang, and The Legend of JoJo crewneck from OptionaliTEES sure does the trick. WAFA, Shirley Temples & Ri Ri & more. $38

Stay tuned for my Ladies Gift Guide coming later this week, but if you need a quick fix: check out my past FOUR years of Philly gift guides and get shopping! xx
