Like any other good millennial out there, my dependency on Amazon Prime is real. It’s easy to use, it’s flexible to you, I mean you can find out how to change country on Amazon prime so you never have to be without it! It will always be there for you. And us millennials are addicted to it, I mean, where would we be without it? There are actually so few things I need in life where a 2 day turnaround is not sufficient, so it’s become my real BFF over the past few years.
I’m a big believer in trying what’s out there on Amazon, and the internet in general. If I can get free shipping (and free returns, obviously), I’m always up for trying new brands, new sizes, new products, etc. I know it’s easy to get overwhelmed living this life, but I’ve found being up for trying something new is worth it (and the cash hold on your credit card) in the long run.
Some of my favorite types of products to discover on Amazon are all things beauty. Skincare, laundry supplies, makeup, face masks, Amazon’s site is full of gems with 5 star reviews and picture evidence to prove it if you just look hard enough. Through a lot of research and reviews, I wanted to pass along my wisdom of the 7 things you really must, must try (the excitement in my writing below is real). And fair warning: I’m gonna get a little bit personal with some of these, so strap in!
1. Thank Me Later Primer
I have tried a lot of eyeshadow primers out there (meant to help your eyeshadow go on smoother and stay on longer), and this is hands-down, the best. No crazy creases, waterproof, and cruelty-free. I’ve even given this as gifts and it’s become a staple for all, from makeup pros to casual fans. Another thing I love? If I accidentally squeeze out too much product, it’s quite easy to suction it back in (you know what I mean). BUY IT HERE
2. Borax 20 Mule Team Detergent Booster
I am meticulous about my laundry (which is pretty hard to do when you’re working with a $2.25 per load washer fee in your apartment’s basement), but this baby helps me make that happen. I may be way behind the times, but I’ve never tried a “laundry booster” until I discovered Borax. The product is over 100 years old and has multi-uses (kitchen, bathroom, etc.), but I’m all about this perk: “makes your detergent work better.” And it really, really does. BUY IT HERE
3. Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch (Pack of 10)
{Here comes the personal stuff:) You can thank the ol pimple pads for the inspiration behind this post. I get whiteheads and cystic acne spots, and have tried c-o-u-n-t-l-e-s-s spot treatments (like, countless), and I’ve never been more impressed with something like this. These sheets contain little stickers you place over your zits, leave on overnight (you can wear under makeup, but I think they’re definitely visible), and remove in the morning for either a reduced size cystic bump, OR, the real treat, all/most of the gunk from your pimple suctioned out onto the sticker. I can’t even explain it, but it’s glorious, and YOU. NEED. THESE. BUY IT HERE
4. Summer’s Eve Night-Time Cleansing Cloths
You know the times when you’re running home from work, really wish you could shower, but don’t have time to shower, and need to freshen up a bit before you head out to your next engagement? Or when you come home from a long night out and just want to feel clean before you pop into bed? There are many instances you’ll find use for these gems (the product description tells us: when you want to refresh after a workout, before getting intimate, or anytime you’d like to feel fresh and clean), but let me tell you, you’ll use these. 5. Luxe Makeup Brush Cleaner with USB Charging Station
And this was the second thing that inspired this blog post. I hate (HATE HATE) washing my makeup brushes. For those of you that don’t wash your brushes, there are plenty of reasons why you should. But if you’re already sudsing those puppies up and hating every second of it, allow me to introduce you to this little gadget. “The Luxe Brush Spinner cleans and dries your makeup brush in just a couple of seconds!” And yes. it. does. I’ll do a video on my Instagram Stories showing you how I use it, but basically you fit your brush to this magic wand that spins your brush in an enclosed soapy bowl. After it’s clean (and this is the best part), you lift the brush out of the water, put it on it’s highest spin cycle, and IT DRIES IT. I still leave most of my brushes standing up for an hour or so afterwards just to make sure they’re fully dry, but the days of having to time when I washed my brushes so I had dry brushes for the next makeup application are over. This is magic. BUY IT HERE
6. Joico Finishing Spray, Powerspray Fast Dry
My hair typically loses a curl pretty fast, so I am always on the hunt for the best hairsprays. The Joico line has been my favorite for quite a bit (I initially bought my first bottle at TJ Maxx) because it just works. It’s definitely not crunchy or sticky, and the aerosol spray is easy to apply. I get the 8-10 hold when I don’t want my hair to budge, but there are a few different levels of spray you can try. I’ll even make the claim that with proper sleeping arrangements, my curls stay in until the next day when I use Joico. It’s a blessing. BUY IT HERE
7. Portable Iron Fabric Steam Cleaner Mini Travel Garment Steamer
The day I bought this steamer was a life-changing day. I never iron. I think the only time I’ve ironed has been for an occasion like high school graduation and I hated it (I’m discovering a lot of this list are just remedies for things I claim to “hate”). When I moved out, I refused to buy an iron, and instead would try some wrinkle spray that never quite worked. A steamer is literally joy on earth to the anti-ironer. I am also planning to buy distilled water to use with this steamer so that it lasts long. For those who are unaware, distilled water is free of minerals, which can ensure that there is no mineral build-up in the machine and that the production of steam is as good as was in the first use. You just have to hang up your wrinkly dress on the shower curtain, add some water, and this heats up in like 5 seconds, ready to make your clothes smooth in a few short minutes. BUY IT HERE
8. Whitmor Clip and Drip Hanger
Because I do a lot of laundry in my small apartment (and all at once), finding somewhere to hang my air dry items has been an issue. On occasion, I have been temped to try and find a laundromat that’s open 24/7 so that I can spend all day and night using their dryers. So another life-changer was this hanging, portable 26 clip drying “rack.” I clip up my bras, workout clothes, and lacy stuff, and it’s out of the way in one compact location (not all over my apartment on whatever hanging surfaces I can find). I keep it stored folded up right on my shower curtain and it’s totally out of my way. BUY IT HERE
THIS WAS SO FUN! These descriptions were so easy to write, because I think I’ve said these exact things aloud many times to anyone who will listen. If you’re like me and love a good Amazon find, I am happy to report I’ve compiled everything I currently have purchased, own, and love from Amazon right here for your shopping pleasure (love is the key word there – you won’t find anything I’ve returned on that list). I’ll be adding to this as I find new gems (I just got a bunch of new bathing suits I’m obsessed with) and would love to hear your Amazon recs in the comments below! Let me know what you’re loving. Have a great rest of your week! xx
