Philadelphia Holiday Gift Guide 2020

Happy almost December, you guys! We have been absolutely so busy right now with the move, but we are making progress, and that’s been very encouraging! I am really excited to celebrate the holidays in our new home. We rearranged the living room last night and decided where we’ll put our tree – I am ready for some festivity!

But on to the reason you’re all here! My Philly gift guides used to be some of my favorite posts to put together, so I am thrilled to resurrect the series this holiday season. There’s only a ladies guide this year – so hopefully I can work back up to both some time in the future. 🙂

I am really excited to share this list of 22 Philly-themed gift ideas. We all know, shopping local is so important right now, and many of these businesses sell through Etsy or their own online shop, as well as local shops and markets, so you can shop wherever your comfort level is. I am also proud to include many female and Black-owned businesses this year – we have so much talent in our area.

A lot of these businesses are running sales right now, but the prices I listed are all their full price (so you’ll be pleasantly surprised upon click through!). Enjoy your shopping this season, and I obviously won’t tell anyone if you pick up one (or a few) of these for yourself! 😉 And now, on to the gifts!

1. Philadelphia Ribbed Thermal – Serendipity: Serendipity has shops in Chesnut Hill, Doylestown, and Avalon, and I fell in love with this thermal as soon as I saw it. Perfect for WFH weekday life or as a beach cover-up. $49

2. Las Vegas Collection Braided Headband – Bellefixe: New Philly-lady businesses with insanely high-quality products. You’ll love everything you get. $16

3. Cocoa Body Cream – UrbanGirlSudz: 655 sales and literally 5 stars on Etsy?! You love to see it. Shop owner Eloise has tons of products available at big discounts, but these body creams look amazing! $15.99

4. Orchid Waxed Canvas Buckthorn Craft Knitting Tote Bag – tanneicasey: These bags look so well made and the perfect present for the crafty knitter in your life. I think this would look really nice to wear, filled with yarn or not! $60

5. Goddess Candle – PhillyCandles: I did honestly gasp when I saw these. The female body. Gold. Made in Philly. They’re incredible, unlike anything I’ve seen before, and I’ll definitely be picking some of these up for myself. $12

6. Down the Shore Stemless Wine Glass – Occasionette: I love everything from Occasionette, Sara is a master curator. They have shops on East Passyunk and in Collingswood so you can thank the friend that let you stay at their shore house all summer. $14

7. NJ or PA Zip Code Ornaments – Destined Goods: I hosted a giveaway earlier this year with Destined Goods, and Mark was so great to work with. His products are truly the highest quality, and I love these zip code ornaments for friends who may be celebrating the holidays in a new home 😉 so much! $25

8. Queen Crew – LFB Apparel: Tiffany launched her shop not too long ago, and she is constantly putting out new styles you and your friends will love. $44

9. Personalized Photo Candles – MyMindfulMemories: Another great, personalizable find from a local Philly Etsy. I love that you can make this candle special for practically any person in your life. $25

10. Made in Philly Cheesesteak Iron-On Patch – Pinadelphia: For your friend that decorates her demin jacket or bag, get her the most Philly patch there is, so she can show off her city wiz wit. $8

11. Gold Chain Bracelet – JulesSociety: I was so excited when I found this “modern jewelry with an edge” shop. It’s jam-packed with gold pieces that will add to any sophisticated stack. $48

12. The Small Away We Go Pouch in Green Jungle Print – FatFatGoose: Am I a sucker for a nice print and a hair accessory? Some may say. All products at this shop are designed and sewn right in Philly. $48

13. Green Shadow Plaid Wool Blanket – American Trench: When the Woolrich, PA Woolen Mill closed, the team at American Trench (located in Ardmore), took the drive to buy some wool on clearance. They found one roll of this gorgeous plaid and made a *limited* number of blankets. $129

14. Philadelphia Eagles Long-Sleeve T-Shirt – Tailgate: You guys loved the last time I shared these stylish Philly sports options, so I had to include. Tailgate stocks tons of Philly gear for both men and women – and they’re cuteeee. $39.95

15. Fishtown “Official Beverage” Ornament – Jawnaments: Between a PPA parking ticket, Stock’s pound cake, or the East Passyunk manhole cover, you *will* find something very Philly-special to add to someone’s tree this year. $15

16. HD Glamour Curl Iron Set by Hair Diaries: Asia has her own extensions line, but extensions are definitely a gift you pick out yourself. 🙂 Her curling irons work on all hair types and give so many options for styling! $79.99

17. The Philly Tarot Deck – James Boyle: One of the new true classic Philly gifts that will always be a crowd pleaser. Not into tarot? James also sells prints of some of his stunning cards. $40

18. The Perfect Terrarium – Potted Perfection: Small Black-owned local biz that normally focuses on larger landscaping projects put together this gift offering just for us: a custom terrarium! Each will look different and unique. DM them to order on Instagram, pickup in Bryn Mawr or delivery available. $50

19. Red PHL Baseball Hat by Ali’s Wagon: Located right in Fairmount, you can shop Ali’s Wagon online or in store. This hat is the perfect accessory for your friend who knows how to put a lewk together at sports games and festivals. $35

20. South Philly Cleaners Tee – SouvenirAndFar: I am so excited to learn more about this shop and owner Brittany, because these shirts are *so* well-designed. Your South Philly friend is going to love this. $25

21. Holiday Scratch Offs – PA Lottery (sponsored): A very Philly addition to any holiday gift this season, throw on one (or all) of the six holiday-themed scratch offs from the PA Lottery. $1 – $20 (plus: coupons here!)

22. Boho Fringe Dusty Rose Earrings – She Was Blue: You will have a hard time deciding which of Allison’s jewelry pieces you like best. Everything is top quality and so beautiful, but these earrings are my favorites. $25

HP on the Gram

Our little babe @putterthepuppy is a puppy school Our little babe @putterthepuppy is a puppy school graduate! 🎓 @jimmypennz & I learned so much from Barbara (@romeothewhitepug) at the Somers Point @petsmart for weekly puppy classes at the shore. Putter enjoyed the socializing & the treats!
The last thing I needed to recap from the time I t The last thing I needed to recap from the time I took off the gram…my sister’s wedding!!! 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏼‍♂️🖤

@linnytharp married her hubby MB at @sunsetflowerfarm this past May. It was the hottest day we could ever imagine, and it was perfect. The peonies were bloomin, the band was jammin, and so, so many of our favorite people were there. I felt so special to be my sister’s maid of honor and share this day with so many people we loved. It was just so much fun.

Shoutout to @herestoforeverco for amazing day of help & @nita_gladovic_photography for keeping us sane in the heat & capturing these gorgeous moments. 🌅

Lindsay let us pick our own floral dresses, and I had a tough time looking for months. This @macduggal gown finally felt like the one & made me feel so special the day of. 🌸 Linking it on my stories!
I may regret this post because it is already so ha I may regret this post because it is already so hard to get a pizza from this pop up… but if you’re headed to the shore next month - you must try to get a reservation with @squaresandfare! 🍕

@squaresandfare makes pies & cookies at a secret pop up in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. I saw the pizzas shared by some friends from home (thanks @ambaajayy & @tyler_bryce1227!) & didn’t even come close the first reservation I attempted to make. I finally scored a reservation for a Large Super Sampler in early June & was in love!

Chef Dom and his family make a great pie & I can’t wait to see what’s next for them. If you’re interested in snagging a pizza for next month, head to @squaresandfare & make sure to get on to reserve at exactly 8pm tomorrow! Good luck! 🫡
