Having the Perfect Eagles Party this Season

This post is part of a paid partnership with DecoPac. Thank you for supporting the brands that help make Her Philly possible!

The Birds are baaaack, baby! Even if you’re not a huge football fan, I’m sure that pretty much every Philadelphia human can appreciate the real and utter joy this city has experienced over the last year. It’s been so. much. fun. I can assume that many people have been watching on the edge of their seats and placed a bet or two online by looking at some of the best iowa sportsbook apps as well as others, so they can win a little bit of money along the way.

One of the best parts of Eagles season for me is all of the gatherings to watch the games. Whether it’s a few friends watching on the couch, making a v risky stop at a Center City sports bar (this is quite rare for me ever since a waitress at Fox & Hound spilled piping hot cheese sauce on my new Jason Kelce jersey a few years back), at home in South Jersey with my Pops, or, of course, tailgating down at the Linc, just being together and sharing in the love of our Birds is the reason for the szn.

{Giveaway} Let’s Eat Some Cake

When I attend some type of formal social event that inevitably serves dessert, and taste the too dry/too sweet/too bland cake, I wonder: where the heck did this come from? I then feel the need to help out my fellow Philadelphians and show them the good stuff.

And good stuff we’ve got. Let Them Eat Cake, a Philly based cake design competition, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 6:00pm at the DoubleTree Hilton (237 Broad Street). The super sweet event (get it?) will offer guests (like us) the chance to sample over 40 delicious cakes from the area’s top bakers.

Let Them Eat Cake Philadelphia 2014Our official judges for the night (but you’re totally allowed to judge by your own scoring scale, obviously) include Natayna DiBona, co-host and co-founder Diner en Blanc Philadelphia, Dana Herbert, winner of Next Great Baker & UD alum, Kathy Gold, owner of In the Kitchen Cooking School and president of Les Dames D’Escoffier PHL, George Kyrtatas, the Sweet Water Grill and Cut Throat Kitchen + more.

Tickets will run you $40 in advance. Get there early – the first 100 hungry peeps in the door will receive a goody bag worth $100+. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit City of Hope to help fight cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. And if this event sounds like quite the treat to you, I’ve got an opportunity to win two tickets, courtesy of Aversa PR. The giveaway ends Monday night, so get those entries in now & good luck! xx

Felt just like old times tonight… a pitcher of @ Felt just like old times tonight… a pitcher of @jose_pistolas margs, chicken tinga nachos, and a 45 minute parking spot search (what are they filming in the city rn?!). 😉 Thankful for good friends & lots of guac.

We adopted a puppy!!! 🖤 Meet Putter. He was born in January in Mississippi, and brought to PA with his mom & siblings for adoption by @tlcrescuepa.

I had been applying to rescue a pup for almost a year, so I am so thankful to @tlcrescuepa for giving us a shot. We brought Putter home 4/26/22. 🥰

Putter is fitting into our family so well, and we are loving watching him grow and learn new things. Jim & I are taking him to puppy class every Saturday and we are excited to learn more ourselves!

I could spam you with a million pictures but I created an Insta for the baby so I don’t go overboard here. 😂 You can follow @putterthepuppy to see more of our small boy. 🥹

I have talked about the @foundingfootsteps tours for years. The owner, Tim, is such an asset to the Philly community, and I was excited to support his company for our ladies night out. 💃🏻

I booked us the Beer & Bands trolley tour. We (the 8 of us and 3 sweet younger gals) got picked up at Betsy Ross house with our BYO @highnoonsunsips and singing voices ready. 🎶

The trolley comes equipped with musicians and an amazing driver (shoutout Koser, Nate & Justin!) and takes you on a drive throughout the city, while the musicians play Britney Spears, BSB, & other assorted covers. Though we did make several suggestions to add more Taylor songs into rotation. 😉

The windows are open and we were loudly singing along, so early on, in our drunken happiness, we decided to start waving to people out the window. Once we started getting a few waves back, it became the sole focus of the night, singing and seeing how many waves we could secure (it was a 95% wave-back rate).

We laughed and sang and just had the most fun tour ever. The tour also stops at a brewery or two (hence that part of the name), we stopped at @victorytaproom_phl on ours, but we were mostly happy to be waving on the trolley. 😂

I can’t recommend @foundingfootsteps for your next girls night out enough. 🖤
