An Ode to Little Pete’s

My dear Little Pete’s (219 South 17th Street), how I love thee. We were introduced several years ago, when times were different, but you have remained constant. You’re always there, 24/7, when it’s early and I can’t seem to get out of bed or make myself an omelet quite like you do, or when it’s late, and I need something fried and delicious served to me in under 10 minutes after a long night of drinking.

Little Pete's PhiladelphiaBut oh . . . the best times are right around the corner, don’t think I forgot about them. The best times when it’s around 10 – 11 am, super cold out, on a Saturday, when I need the weekend more than ever. And a coffee. And guaranteed good food no matter what. That’s when you’re the best.

Turkey Reuben Philadelphia Little Pete's dinerI show you off to all of my friends, and they all love you just as much as me. I think even if they didn’t, they would tell me they did, because they know how attached I am to you. Bacon and Cheese omelet from Philadelphia diner

It makes me smile that I can get to you in a 10 minute walk, no driving to South Philly, or even Jersey for that matter, required. Sure, I have to wait for you sometimes, but that just means you’re worth it. 24/7 Philadelphia dinerI think if I ever had to move away from you, separation anxiety would ensue. In my two and a half years in this city, you’ve proved yourself to be irreplaceable.

I’d like to end with a very special quote I found that truly sums up our relationship: “Sometimes, someone comes into your life, so unexpectedly, takes your heart by surprise, and changes your life forever.” There has never been a truer statement. Love ya, Peter.

Insta-Month: A Look Back {December}

I always love Philadelphia during the winter. Something about bundling up to get some fresh air and still being able to walk everywhere you need to go has always appealed to me. This month, despite some minor sickness(es), has been a good one – filled with friends, family & celebrating. Here is a peek at my December:

We adopted a puppy!!! 🖤 Meet Putter. He was born in January in Mississippi, and brought to PA with his mom & siblings for adoption by @tlcrescuepa.

I had been applying to rescue a pup for almost a year, so I am so thankful to @tlcrescuepa for giving us a shot. We brought Putter home 4/26/22. 🥰

Putter is fitting into our family so well, and we are loving watching him grow and learn new things. Jim & I are taking him to puppy class every Saturday and we are excited to learn more ourselves!

I could spam you with a million pictures but I created an Insta for the baby so I don’t go overboard here. 😂 You can follow @putterthepuppy to see more of our small boy. 🥹
The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelore The last night of @linnytharp’s Philly bachelorette was such a joy it deserves its own post. 🚃

I have talked about the @foundingfootsteps tours for years. The owner, Tim, is such an asset to the Philly community, and I was excited to support his company for our ladies night out. 💃🏻

I booked us the Beer & Bands trolley tour. We (the 8 of us and 3 sweet younger gals) got picked up at Betsy Ross house with our BYO @highnoonsunsips and singing voices ready. 🎶

The trolley comes equipped with musicians and an amazing driver (shoutout Koser, Nate & Justin!) and takes you on a drive throughout the city, while the musicians play Britney Spears, BSB, & other assorted covers. Though we did make several suggestions to add more Taylor songs into rotation. 😉

The windows are open and we were loudly singing along, so early on, in our drunken happiness, we decided to start waving to people out the window. Once we started getting a few waves back, it became the sole focus of the night, singing and seeing how many waves we could secure (it was a 95% wave-back rate).

We laughed and sang and just had the most fun tour ever. The tour also stops at a brewery or two (hence that part of the name), we stopped at @victorytaproom_phl on ours, but we were mostly happy to be waving on the trolley. 😂

I can’t recommend @foundingfootsteps for your next girls night out enough. 🖤
Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨ O Part 2 of my sister’s #PhillyBachelorette ✨

Our Saturday bachelorette day started off with breakfast at our @airbnb (@hot_bagels brought by @caitlyn22b were the star). We made some drinks and headed to @oldcityphilly for our surprise (to @linnytharp) @airbnbexperiences tour - “Hamilton - The Tour Where it Happens!”

Lindsay is a big @hamiltonmusical fan and this was an absolutely hysterical way for us to spend the afternoon. Our tour guide, Reid, brought along a speaker and played/rapped along to several Hamilton tracks on the streets of Philly. We learned a lot about the true Hamilton story and had just so, so much fun.

After the tour, we got a drink at @theploughphilly and bopped over to @luchacartelphilly for a seriously delicious dinner & margs. Our night event deserves its own post, so more on that in the final Bach post! 😉
