What happens when you’re fearless, outgoing, and know how to treat yourself? Potentially a lot of things, but for my friend Brooke, it was a solo vacation. Brooke and I have been friends since freshman year of college, and after both of our post-grad jobs brought us to Philadelphia, life has been good. I was so crazy proud of her (along with my fair share of: “are you sure you’ll be safe?!” mixed in) for taking on a vacation by herself, that I asked her if she wouldn’t mind sharing her experience with all of you for my second guest post (ever!).
Where I’ve Been & Where I’m Going
Happy October, Philly ladies! It doesn’t really feel like October though, especially since I just turned the AIR CONDITIONING on in my apartment. What freaking gives.
I wanted to give you a quick update on my life. After some amazing Philadelphia Restaurant Week excursions (helloooo Fogo de Chao, Zahav & Tinto!) and trying so. many. ciders at the Pour the Core Cider Festival, I headed to Chicago for a conference all about e-commerce and online shopping. While I was only there a few days, my coworkers and I got to schmooze at some pretty cool parties, like the one below at the Terrace at Trump. I learned a lot at the conference and would love to go back & visit Chicago again soon. But mainly just to eat at RPM Italian a few more times . . . yum.
Before the conference was confirmed, my family and I had planned a trip to one of our favorite spots, Orlando! So despite the fact that I currently have 2.5 hours to unpack blazers and career dresses from my suitcase and repack it with sundresses, flip flops & bathing suits, I’m feeling pretty wonderful about relaxing on a much needed vacay. I’m unfortunately not one of those fab bloggers that has a bunch of posts scheduled to hold you over (I’m sorry . . . ), so please consider this a brief hiatus. If you miss me too much while I’m away, check out Her Philly on Twitter & Her Philly on Instagram.
I hope you all have a fabulous week & maybe the next time you see me I’ll be a teensy, tiny, little bit less florescent in skintone? But probably not. xx
